Marc Ryan, L.Ac., Dipl. CH. is a graduate of Cornell University, a Licensed Acupuncturist in the State of California, a Diplomat of Chinese Herbology, NCCAOM, and a Diplomat of Acupuncture Orthopedics, NBAO.

Mr. Ryan has over 10 years of clinical, research and teaching experience and currently practices at the UCLA Integrative Urology Program and he recently opened a new center in San Pedro, California called Body Purification Center which focuses on treating health issues caused by exposure to environmental toxins and aches, pains and injuries caused by work.

In addition, he was formerly a clinical supervisor at Venice Family Clinic, a free community clinic serving over 20,000 patients in the Los Angeles area and he maintains a private practice in West Los Angeles.

He is also an active member of the TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) profession, working with the Institute for the Advancement of Acupuncture Research (IAAR), in product development and as an educator and writer.

What is Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis?

Most doctors and clinicians order blood tests when they suspect that you have some type of illness or problem. For example, your cholesterol is high, or your thyroid is out of whack. They get the results of the tests and, then, they tell you whether you have a problem or not.

The way they decide if you have a problem or not is to compare your results to what is called the "laboratory range". This number is determined by sampling a large number of people who get these blood tests over a period of time. This way of looking at data is what is commonly termed a bell curve because the graph of the information looks like a bell shaped curve.
